New light on “Il Quarto Stato” (The Fourth Estate)

ILTI Luce contributes its expertise to the visual narrative of one of the most emblematic masterpieces in art history: Il Quarto Stato (The Fourth Estate) by Pellizza da Volpedo. Capri Pro spotlights were selected for their ability to enhance Pellizza da Volpedo’s painting technique, particularly the light and color rendering of his works.

A monographic exhibition traces the artistic and biographical history of Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo more than a century after the last, and only, monographic exhibition dedicated to the Piedmontese artist, held in 1920 at the Galleria Pesaro.

The preparatory drawings in pencil and charcoal on canvas paper, Study for The Fourth Estate, are enhanced by a high color rendering (CRI >97) LED profile with dimmer, supported by two stand-alone Plint projectors with variable focal length, used to provide uniform and calibrated lighting.

ILTI Luce renews its commitment to promoting Italy’s artistic heritage, contributing its expertise to the visual narration of one of the most emblematic masterpieces in the history of art. For over twenty years, ILTI Luce has been engaged in the research and development of museum lighting technologies, offering products “Handcrafted in Italy” for galleries and permanent exhibitions around the world.
